Move over Serendipity -- There's a new sweet spot in town and this one already has a cult following. The wildly popular Vegas restaurant, Sugar Factory American Brasserie, has just opened a new location in NYC's Meatpacking district. Known for its celeb following (Kim Kardashian, Britney Spears, Drake, Eva Longoria, Katy Perry, Rihanna just to name a few...) and mind-blowing candy drinks, this restaurant is just what the city ordered. The 3,000-square food palace of sweet delights serves breakfast, lunch, dinner and the best desserts.
Let's first talk about the drinks: You can opt for a martini style sweet drink - I recommend the S'mores Cocktail ($16) or Caramel Macchiato (think Starbucks + alcohol). My favorites are the over the top signature goblets that features 60 ounces of liquid deliciousness. We tried the White Gummi ($36) and couldn't get enough - see happiness vine here. The goblets showcase the "dry ice" method that makes smoke ooze from the drink for a added visual treat.
Besides the great drinks, the menu for food is awesome too! Classics like burgers & fries, eggs benedict, pasta, and steak are delicious and pleasing to the palate. Of course, no meal is complete without dessert and here is where the restaurant truly succeeds. Dessert selection includes red velvet pancakes, cheesecake, various flavors of milkshakes, pastries galore, fondue (begin the drooling), and so much more. If you're really hungry or with a group of 12, you can try their World Famous Sugar Factory King Kong Sundae ($99) that includes 24 scoops of Ice Cream, sprinkle, caramel sauce and all the fixings.
The best part about Sugar Factory? It won't break the bank. The drinks are reasonably priced for their size ($16-$36) and food on par or less than most NYC restaurants. I initially thought it would be much more expensive to visit. We dined in the Sugar Suite, an intimate alcove availiable for semi-private dining, parties or events for groups up to 50 people. It's a great place for a birthday, bachelorette party, Sweet 16 or even a corporate event. I'll surely be back. ♥
