Beauty Trend Spotting At SS13 | New York Fashion Week

This September at NYFW Spring 2013 the runways were full of gorgeous beauty looks. Take a peek at the trends and beauty products I can't wait to try next season. 

Jeremy Scott: Backstage nails by Dashing Diva Professional's Celebrity Manicurist and Director of Education, Patricia Yankee.

Nails - Custom nails in gold. The nails were created as an applique, which means they will last up to a week on natural nails, and up to two weeks with paired with a gel overlay like Dashing Diva Gelife. The gel overlay adds a super high-gloss shine with an embedded dimensional finish. Jeremy Scott wanted long faux nails in a almond shape.

Makeup - MAC Cosmetics created the look seen above that was inspired by the late 1970's and early 1980's makeup. A gorgeous midnight and electric blue were blended to create a eye-catching smokey eye. The lips were kept neutral.

Trend: Deconstructed beauty 

Look: "[COTW Designers] Chris and Shane were referencing a character from a Godzilla film. They had this idea of 'monstrous beauty' that's raw, but still ladylike," said James Boehmer, NARS Global Director of Artistry. "So we created a look on the eyes that's a little lived-in. It's not as anime and perfect; it's destroyed."

Trend: Flawless skin and natural brows

Look: “It’s a minimal look that we achieved using skincare and complexion products," said Kendal.  "Because the collection boasts minimal tones, we did the same thing for the makeup and focused on flawless, matte skin. For the models wearing the amazing glow in the dark looks, we gave them a more luminous face, with powder applied to the high points of the cheek.”
