JK Jemma Kidd Grecian Goddess Collection - Spring/Summer 2011 Review & Swatches

I had never heard of the brand, Jemma Kidd, until recently where a fellow beauty blogger mentioned it in a post. I thought to myself, "I've gotta try their stuff!" Jemma Kidd is known for the popular makeup school she opened in London in 2003. She's a former model turned makeup artist. She fell in love with makeup and decided to follow her passion. Jemma's career soared when she launched her makeup school collection which debuted in London in October of 2005 and at Bergdorf Goodman, New York in February of 2006. Their tag line phrase, "Millions of women throughout the world wear make-up, but few of them have been taught how to apply it" is how Jemma describes her vision for this line. It's definitely something to think about. Before beauty blogging and YouTube, women were teaching themselves how to apply makeup really by trial and error. Nowadays with the internet filled with blogs, tutorials and easy how-to makeup sites, women can pretty much learn anywhere.

I love Jemma's saying, "there are no rules - only guidelines and techniques." Makeup is really about fun and experimentation. You can be shown many techniques, but they're no rules and the possibilities are endless.

Jemma Kidd' recently launched a line called, "JK Jemma Kidd," which is exclusively sold at Target. This line is all about being modern, chic and bold.

All the products in this line have awesome packaging and perfect for that girl on the go.

(Disclosure: Products received below were sent for consideration from PR)

Here are the products I was able to try:

I received four products: Jemma Kidd In Vogue Perfect Blush - 03 5th Avenue, Jemma Kidd City Chic Lip Kit, Jemma Kidd City Chic I-Kit & Jemma Kidd Glitterati Shadow Dust Duo - 01 Premiere

I was pleasantly surprised at the great quality of the products. Immediately when you think of a beauty brand that Target carries, you're probably not thinking it's gonna be great or even okay for that matter. Every product was amazingly pigmented and great for everyday wear. Here's a closer look:

Jemma Kidd In Vogue Perfect Blush - 03 5th Avenue: I love a great orange/peachy blush and this is no exception. The formula is semi-matte and gives a soft glow to cheeks. I like the look of this blush because you have the option to either use one color or blend together. Retail is $18 at Target.

Jemma Kidd City Chic Lip Kit: I actually really don't like lip kits because I prefer a single gloss or lipstick. Although this kit isn't for me, the colors are gorgeous. I immediately thought this was going to be a flop in the collection, but definitely NOT. Each gloss is nicely pigmented and gives a sheer glow. Retail is $22 at Target.

Jemma Kidd City Chic I-Kit: This set is PERFECT for travel. I absolutely loved all the colors and the pigments were great! It reminded me of a mini naked palette by Urban Decay. I definitely recommend this to everyone who is looking for a small, compact palette on the go. The shades are a mix of frost and matte and are in the brown family. Retail is $22 at Target.

Jemma Kidd Glitterati Shadow Dust Duo - 01 Premiere: Right now the trend in makeup for Fall is metallic colors, so this is the perfect addition for your makeup collection. It's simple to use and comes with two sides. One side features a metallic liquid eyeshadow and the other side has a roll on glitter shadow. I'm totally loving this product. Retail is $18 at Target.

All and all, I definitely recommend this line for anyone on a budget who doesn't want to sacrifice quality for price.
